Comment Conversation

This is something that I thought I would share with you all. Also I thought it would be hilarious if there was input from others apart from Vimal and I, who actually had this argument. Ok well you can click THIS or you can read the whole thing below, once again all this is from one of Vimal's blogs, called Isles.

Lastnight Dixita, Abhishek, and a friend of theirs and I went to Byrd theater to see 'Mr. & Mrs. Smith'.I thought the movie will be an ok action movie. But to my disappointment it turned out to be stupid action movie. In the end, the movie reminded me of another movie 'Desperado'.We had earlier decided to go to a restaurant for dinner after the movie. But one person in the group(no name) broke the deal. Now Iam also going to break a deal that I had made earlier with that person.Yesterday was also my first day as a vegetarian. Now I don't know if milk, yogurt, and egg are considered vegetarian. But I will consider them as vegetarian until unless I feel otherwise.

Hey I honored my end of the deal that we had between us , but you haven't. This just re-iterates a well know fact 'NEVER EVER trust a girl'. I should put this in my bedroom so I wake up reading this every morning. So vegan is different from vegetarian. hmm... I see.For now I will be vegetarian & let me see how it goes. And Ms. Preethi, its not 'Yoghurt' ok, it's 'Yogurt'.Yoghurt..hahahaha.Yoghurt....hahahah that's so silly.

"No legit deal in the first place" ???see...this is exactly what Iam talking about. Never trust a girl. They say 'yes', 'ok', 'deal' and everything, then they forget all of them."yoghurt is the way us aussies say it"We don't care ok. We Americans have it right always. You are either with us or against us. If you are against us, we are gonna come and kik your ass. That's what we do and we are damn good at that.So you guys better watch your back. And, by the way, do you ever sleep at night or you always awake? In that case you are well qualified for a call center job. hehehe.

ur an indian first too. At least I was born in the second most developed city in Tamilnadu and the third largest city in Tamilnadu, the beautiful, surrounded by hills, the one and only, Coimbatore. And you coming from a small gramam, call yourself aussie. If everybody hates america, why does everyone want to come here. Duh!Do you know you can't get US visa interview in Chennai US consulate till january next year? Will you stop watching Hollywood movies :-)

Preethi said...
1)yeah i know i am an indian first as well... did i ever say i wasn't????? 2) You made up that I come from a gramam, never did I actually tell you where in TN I am from... 3) You are generalising when saying everyone, the majority hate america and those that go there or want to go there are brain washed... 4)Another thing about America, they have Hollywood movies which are absolute trash and do not depict anything real, even about themselves... lol

vimal said...
I know exactly which gramam you come from. Brain wash? Goddammit. I was supposed to take my car for a car wash last weekend.Hey, at least we have a movie industry, you guys don't even have that. Nicole Kidman and Russel Crowe , why did they come to Hollywood. Duh!
9:25 PM
Preethi said...
I am Indian, so I don't care about Nicole Kidman or Russell Crowe... And if I wanted to argue my point, I will just say they came to add some style and flare to Hollywood, how come they are two of the top??? think about tht...See car washing, would you do tht in india??? no, cos it wastes sooo much water, you would have a driver to wipe it every second with some sort of rag, so not one bit of water is wasted... hmmm, getting too full of urself, afterall u only call urself an american... and when prodded a lot you call urself an indian (where is the desi pride (in ur american terms...))... u dont knw which gramam i come from, cos i dont come from a gramam... so give it up!

And that's where the comment conversation ended, I decided to end it there and let him have the last word afterall it was his blog ;). Well actually it kinda linked to the comments posted in the next post on his blog, but for the sake of it we can say it ended there. Add in your comments to this, who do you side with? Just thought it would be funny to have this as a blog entry for myself and see what others thought about it. Also thought I would share it with you all as I found it hilarious while the argument was going on. Any clarifications just ask.

(It seemed to be a little like this, however with words & it did end at some point, thank goodness for that. But neverthless you guys can feel free to give life to it yet again ;))

Hectic Life?

I have not been writing as life for the past few days has been extremely hectic. When I stop and look at it... I cannot think of what I have been doing that is making life sooo hectic... Also in my daily activities I have been bumping into several people that I have not seen for a while, which is awesome. We would have the 5 minute talks, as we would both be rushing off somewhere.

This is typical of the "5 mins" conversation:

Person1: Hey how are you? Haven't seen you for ages.
Person2: Yeah I know. I am good how have you been? We should catch up sometime.
Person1: Yeah totally. So what's new with you?
Person2:Nothing much, just been really busy off late. What's new with you?
Person1: Yeah same here been really busy. Have you had the chance to catch up with anyone from [wherever you know them from (e.g school)]
Person2: Not really I see these people, but yeah..
Person1: I haven't caught up with many either just these people...
Person2 & Person1: [usually at the same time] Anyway really nice seeing you, I better head off I'm running late. Take care, we should definitely catch up soon.

That's the whole conversation. When it happens over and over again it gets very very tedious. With some people despite not having seen them for years you would have nothing to say. How is it that happens? Yet with close friends there is always something to say and you can spend hours talking about things. I guess where you meet them and all is part of it. But this is what tends to happen.

Anyway getting back to having a hectic life. Life has been very hectic. But I don't know why. I do have many things to do, but neverthless it is not like I cannot cope with it. Since life is hectic how come there is nothing to say when people ask how things are going? Are the things I am doing boring? Yeah I guess so. Although the excitment comes and goes, it is shortlived and the mundane daily routine which happens to change day to day sets in. I guess also thinking about the things that are pending makes life seem rather hectic as they are things that are not done yet and to be done, even if they are not completed it seems like it is hectic even when it is time to procrastinate.

Anyway overall life is hectic but somewhat satisfying. Nothing much to grumble about, all is well. I guess the boredom sorta comes with taking everyday as it comes, I make the most of everyday and don't really reflect on what happened in that day. Perhaps thats whats been happening. Perhaps writing a diary would liven things up. Or even just writing what I have to look forward to that's coming up soon.

Ok here's the first thing and one of the main things that I am looking forward to: AR Rahman Concert 3D Spectacular Live in Sydney, 17th September. Cannot wait... It should be awesome hopefully. Although now Shankar Mahadevan is not coming to the Sydney Concert (he's going to Melbourne though), he is going to be replaced by Unni Menon, who I am not really that big a fan of. Oh well... Hopefully the rest will be awesome! I keep thinking about that and thinking, oh well at least soon I will have something to talk about. :)

Hehehe, this mail was just my thoughts punched straight onto the keyboard yet again. Not in any real order but for the order of thoughts that occured in my head in the few minutes I took to type it. Hope it is somewhat relevant to the topic heading and a tiny bit interesting :S... lol! The picture that I have put in this post seems to be somewhat relevant according to me. I tried putting another pic as well but it didn't work, but here's one for you to see!

Like this tree I seem to be just standing here, things around are happening so fast and its all kind of a blur! [This pic was taken with the mobile phone when I was in the car]

Voyage Downunder!

These birds are all on their merry way to a land beyond the one which they were once at. With a destination in mind, they swiftly and efficiently fly as a group knowing exactly where to go and what to do. A couple lead and all the others follow. A few decide to detach and follow their own route, seems a lot like what happens in our lives, there are those who conform to society and those who do not. They look like such peaceful creatures, however as we have all been told, never judge a book by its cover. They are a real menace at times. Worse than the Magpie or Crow. But anyway loved this pic, they look sooo peaceful in the clear blue skies with only a couple of translucent white fluffy clouds.

This picture is distorted on this blog entry, but click on it to get a better look at the peace and tranquility which it holds.

Thoughts on MUSIC!!!!!!!!!!!

Who knows how to make music? Suprisingly many many talented people out there! Music is something that makes anyone relax and comes in all forms, suitable for everyone out there. I love music. If I was asked I would say that the world revolves around music. If you think about it any aspect in our every day lives can be spruced up with a little music.

Studying for example: I find it much easier to study when I am listening to music. I don't know exactly what it is but it triggers something in my brain which improves my concentration. I find that when I study and listen to music I am more likely to recall information later. My theory on this is that music is something that can very easily stick in your head. So when I listen to music and study the music that I listened to when studying something in particular triggers of the memory of what I studied. It seems to work for me. Perhaps give it a try and let me know if it works for you as well.

Singing is another thing that is very very relaxing for me. Perhaps not for those listening to me, but for me to sing it is like I am chanelling my emotions into a song. It is like the emotions become melodies all inter-twined to become a masterpiece... Well to the extent that my voice can take me. With songs the mood is set already so certain moods trigger certain outbursts of songs... Wonderful really the feeling... Happiness, sadness whatever it may be... After a little song I am just content.

In India there are many many people who are extremely talented musically and in other ways. It is amazing how much talent lies there. Almost everyone has a musical talent, whether it be composing, singing, playing an instrument or what not. All the shows that are on tv show this, how can things such as Sapthaswarangal & Raagamallika prevail episode after episode week after week? It is only due to the immense talent that lies there.

Here there are shows like Australian Idol/American Idol... They happen in bursts, of course many people audition and try out. Neverthless the number of people that make it are few. I was watching Australian Idol the other day, out of thousands of people that auditioned the judges found it sooo hard to get 15-20 people that made the cut. Not because they were fussy it is because there was a severe lack of talent. If I am not wrong in those that made the cut at least three were Indians. Another reason for Indian music shows to prevail is because there is immense interest in such things on our behalf. Truly Amazing!

I was listening to a couple of songs the other day. All tamil songs and was trying to analyse the voices of the singers... Here is a summary of what I came up with.

SPB--> All time LEGEND! His voice just makes me melt! No one to beat him I would say, simply fantastic! An ever youthful powerful voice.

Mano--> Great strong voice, he has the ability to change it which I think is a definite asset.

Hariharan--> Excellent singer, his voice is at its best when he sings hindustani and the songs that give importance to the voice (the music does not override the singing)

Shankar Mahadevan--> Awesome, a very funky, hip voice. His breathless songs is one of my favourites he has done an amazing job with it. A voice full of energy and vigour.

Harish Raghavendra--> Really really excellent voice. Very classical sounding & full of melody. One thing I really like about his songs is his pronounciation and the way he gives importance to certain words using a stylish approach (listen carefully to Chennai Sethamizh from M.Kumaran S/O Mahalakshmi for this). He has sung a few peppy songs, such as the Whistle addikum which he is also well suited for.
Karthik--> He can have either a very melodious voice or a really strong, emotion filled, powerful voice, but at the same time kinda nasal and a voice with an attitude. Really amazing talent and I think he has improved off late. One song which he has sung which is off beat & I think he has done an amazing job in is Sarala Kondayil from Ji, its a funny song, in which he has maintained his voice really well, not letting it lack lustre, I think it would have been extremely hard to do this.
Srinivas--> Pretty good voice, once again nasal, suits all the soft songs. Full of energy.

Tippu--> Just like his better half Harini, he has a very versatile, energetic, yet melodious voice.Immense talent.

Ok I think I should stop here. I know I repeated my self a lot with my descriptions. This is just because I am tired and when summarising it seemed to me that the words most appropriate were those that I used above. If and when I go to describe more male singers voices or the female singers voices I promise to try and be more descriptive. Hehehe... I love music... It can do anything used for many many sorts of therapies as well... Sleep, stress, relaxation, rejuvenation etc... To name just a few...

Just remember music is anything no matter whether it is Laaka Laaka Laakaaaa.... or Randakka Randaakaa... Its what we make of it that really counts!
